Steve’s Meltdown and Rooster Collaborate on a Breakfast Club Grilled Cheese

Fans of breakfast food, grilled cheese and John Hughes have something brand new to celebrate at Steve's Meltdown.

We’re proud to introduce “Don’t You Forget About Cheese,” a collaboration with Rooster, available exclusively at Steve’s Meltdown starting Sunday, September 1. Celebrate 40 years of The Breakfast Club and savor this special creation until its last day on September 22.

Our irresistible sandwich features Rooster's homemade tomato jam on fresh baked sourdough, topped with bacon, scrambled eggs, and Rooster’s famous breakfast potatoes, all melted together with smoked gouda.

This collaboration is years in the making! Steve’s Hot Dogs is where Steve’s Meltdown began, and it sits right across the street from Rooster in Tower Grove. Once Steve and Dave Bailey, owner of Rooster, decided to join forces, breakfast magic was born!

“It’s about time!” Steve said. “Rooster is one of our favorite breakfast spots in the neighborhood. What really sets them apart is their high-quality, homemade ingredients. Their tomato jam in particular is a favorite of ours - and something we wanted to highlight with this recipe.”

Stop into the Food Hall at City Foundry and see what the ruckus is about before September 22, when “Don’t You Forget About Cheese” disappears forever. Miss it and you might be forced to ponder the error of your ways.
